The Pakistani Community in France: Concentrated but Small
France has a Pakistani-origin population estimated at around 100,000–150,000 people, making it one of the smaller Pakistani diaspora communities in Western Europe compared to the UK (500,000+) or Italy. The community is concentrated primarily in Paris and its surrounding suburbs — particularly Seine-Saint-Denis (Saint-Denis, Aubervilliers, Bobigny), Seine-et-Marne, and Val-de-Marne.
Unlike the UK’s Birmingham or Bradford — where Pakistani community presence has shaped local commercial streets over generations — France’s Pakistani community hasn’t yet built the same kind of dedicated fashion retail infrastructure. The French fashion ecosystem is world-famous, but it is not South Asian in character.
What you will find are pockets of South Asian commercial activity in certain Paris suburbs — grocery shops, halal restaurants, some fabric merchants — but dedicated Pakistani clothing boutiques are very rare, and Pakistani bridal couture in France is essentially nonexistent as a local retail category.
