Sparkhill and Sparkbrook — Among the most densely Pakistani neighbourhoods in the UK. Family businesses, restaurants, and clothing shops line the streets. The community here is deeply connected to Pakistani cultural life, and you’ll hear Urdu and Punjabi as naturally as English.
Alum Rock — Another major hub, particularly for working-class Pakistani families. High density of South Asian shops, grocers, and clothing retailers. Busy and community-centred.
Stratford Road (Sparkhill to Hall Green stretch) — This is THE strip. Bridal shops, fabric merchants, jewellery stores, beauty salons, and clothing boutiques stretch along Stratford Road in a way that genuinely feels like a piece of Pakistan transplanted to the West Midlands. On a busy Saturday, the atmosphere is festive, colourful, and full of families shopping for upcoming events.
Small Heath — Adjacent to the Stratford Road corridor, with a large Pakistani population and a supporting network of community shops.
Handsworth — Further north, with a more mixed South Asian population and some Pakistani-focused shops, though the bridal fashion scene is less concentrated here.
Birmingham’s Pakistani community doesn’t just shop together — they celebrate together. The number of Pakistani weddings happening in Birmingham any given weekend between October and March is significant. These families know fashion. They know designers. They know quality.
