Brisbane’s Pakistani Community: Smaller but Growing
Brisbane doesn’t have the same dense Pakistani population as Sydney’s Lakemba or Melbourne’s Dandenong, but the community here is real, established, and growing. Queensland has seen steady migration from Pakistan over the past two decades, with many families settling in the southern suburbs of Brisbane — particularly around Sunnybank, Springwood, Rochedale, and the Logan corridor.
The community is diverse: students at UQ and Griffith, professionals in healthcare and IT, long-settled families, and newer arrivals. What they share is the same challenge: when a big event comes around, finding the right Pakistani outfit in Brisbane isn’t easy.
Unlike Melbourne or Sydney, Brisbane doesn’t yet have a dedicated “Pakistani fashion strip” — but that doesn’t mean you’re out of options.
