The Two Cities, the One Rivalry
Let’s acknowledge the elephant in the room first: Lahore and Karachi have a relationship that is friendly, competitive, occasionally affectionate, and frequently petty. Lahoris think Karachiites are flashy but spiritually shallow. Karachiites think Lahoris are dramatic and addicted to ghee. Both cities think they have better food. Neither is entirely wrong.
In wedding terms, these cultural attitudes express themselves in genuinely different ceremonies. Understanding which city you’re in — and which family culture you’re entering — is the starting point for everything else.
